The Stratford Evening Post WITH WHICH IS INCORPORATED THE EGMONT SETTLER. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17, 1914. DENTISTRY FOR ALL.
A dream of the New South Wales Minister for Public Health, the Hon. Mr Flowers, is in the direction of dentistry for all. In reply to a deputation the other day from the United Dental Hospital of Sydney, he stated he felt very strongly that dentistry was of such vital importance to the health of the community that the State should undertake the responsibility of providing attendance to every resident of the State who could not afford the expense of private treatment. The claims of a dental hospital, he said, should belong first to the children of our public schools; secondly, patients referred for treatment from the general hospitals of the State; and, thirdly, for other residents whose financial position did not enable them to receive private treatment. The hospital, by all means, should be the training school for our young students, who at the present time have to journey to America and other outside centres for their experience and diplomas.
