“TRADE” SUGGESTIONS. 1 [Per Press Association.] Christchurch, June 16. At a meeting of the Provincial Council of the Canterbury licensed trade, the proposed Licensing Bill was brought up for consideration and resolutions were carried unanimously urging that no reduction be made by the Government in the majority now required to carry local and national prohibition; that seven years shall elapse after national prohibition is carried before such vote shall take effect; that in no-license districts where the three-fifths majority is not maintained, restoration shall be deemed to be carried, to the extent of 50 per cent, of former licenses.
