TRADES UNIONISM IN U.S.A. ATTACKED BY MR TAFT. (Bt Electric Telegraph—Coptmght] JCnitmd Press Amooiation.l (Received 12.00 p.m.} New York, • June 15. Mr Taft, in an address at Harvard "University, attacked trade unions for their efforts to exempt themselves from the operations of the Sherman » Anti-Trust Law, and also for thensupporting Colorado strikers in their excesses. ' Mr Taft declared that the unions were endeavouring to weaken the law in-order to pursue their own ends by violence, if necessary. Cer- ' tain trade unions maintained an actual rebellion against State authority. DEBICNS UPON HIS ADMINISTRATION. President Wilson intends to carry out the Anti-Trust programme. He declares that certain interests are making efforts to bring his administration into disrepute. He asserts that the recent business depression throughout the. United States was organised ■ for this purpose.
