SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS.

A GIRL'S "JOY RIDE." [Per Press Association.] Christchurch, June 15. Serious allegations were made to-day at the Juvenile Court, when a girl fifteen years of age was charged with drunkenness. She stated that she was taken for a “joy ride" yesterday in a taxi to Kaiapoi with a girl cousin by two men. She had two nips of whisky and remembered nothing further. She was found wandering in the streets, having been put out of the cab on her return to the city. Magistrate Bishop characterised the affair as scandalous to the community. The police are making full inquiries to sheet the affair home and deal with the taxi driver.
