A Charge of Murder.

STABBED BY A CHINESE.

DECEASED WAS DRUNK. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [Unitw Press Association.! j (Received 9.25 a.m.) Sydney, June 15. At the inquest on Davidson, the son of a Weetalihah hotelkeeper, evidence was given that after a quarrel Davidson said he had been stabbed, but there was only a slight mark on the body. Later, he fell to the floor a couple of times and was removed to bed. An hour later he was found to ho dead. Davidson was drunk. The Chinese was committed for trial on a charge of murdering Davidson.

Cablegrams last wqek stated: James Davidson, mail driver between Waigett and Angledool, was murdered at a Weetalibah roadside hotel, about 50 miles from Walgett, and a Chinese, who was a passenger on the coach, was arrested. It appears that an argument occurred between the Chinaman and Davidson, the former accusing the driver of cheating him. Davidson retired to the Weetalibah Hotel, and early in the morning a man burst into his room and stabbed him to death, the wounds apparently being inflicted by a large pocket-knife.
