In the House of Commons Mr Hazen, Minister of Marine, announced that "the cyclone had struck the New Brunswick fishing fleet and had also destroyed many of the fishermen's homes. Mr Hazen described the disaster as the worst in the history of New Brunswick. The small schooner fleet had been practically wiped out. The Government were ready to grant assistance when deserving case* were in v««tigatedi.
