Reference was made at the British and German Shipping Conference regarding the New Zealand trade, and it was stated the British companies are being given to understand that the Kaiser expressed a wish for the establishment, of a direct service from Hamburg, and also that he was responsible for the continuance of the mail passenger subsidy for the Norddeutscher service in Australia.
