A BYSTANDER INJURED BY A SHOWMAN. 1 [Psb Press Association.] Hamilton, June 8. Captain McLeod, a Wild "West showman, who was recently fined in Auckland for random shooting with, a pea rifle, got himself further prominence on Saturday night at the Waikato winter show. Part of McLeod’s performance is to bore holes with bullets through threepenny pieces held by members of the audience and shoot off the ash of cigarettes in people’s mouths. A young man named Leslie Wilson, living near Hamilton, stood out in the ring smoking, and McLeod fired, the bullet entering hrs cheek and finding exit through the mouth, grazing the tongue and knocking out three teeth. A prosecution is probable.
