ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
[Pee Peebs association J Auckland, June 3. A steward named C. Bain, employed on the steamer Monowai, was drowned in the harbor last night. Cries for help were heard, and iv search made under the wharf, but the body was ‘only recovered this morning. Wellington, June 3. About 2 o’clock this afternoon a drowning accident happened at Evans’ Bay, an elderly man named John Lloyd losing his life. Lloyd, with three other men, was sailing a skiff, when it capsized. Christchurch, June 4. Mi-' A. Mitchell, a commercial traveller, married, residing at New Brighton, died suddenly on the footpath outside the railway station at 8.45 a.in. to-day. .Ho left his homo with the intention of catching the train to Little River. He was delayed at the Post Office, and while hurrying to the train met Ids broth-er-in-law outside the station. While talking to him, Mitchell suddenly threw up his hands, and fell on his back on the pavement. Mr Frank Bradley, a well-known and popular golfer, died suddenly on the links at Chatteris Bay yesterday. In the morning he had participated in a match between Lyttelton and Kaiapoi, representing the former 1 club. Rain caused a cessation of play, and the party adjourned to a whare beside the links for the purpose of drying their clothes. Mr Bradley was approaching the door with the intention of leaving the room, when he reeled and fell, expiring almost immediately.
