Personally he thought that the appointing should be done by the gen oral eommitee'. This course was followed by the Palmerston Association, it was also desirable to have the appointments made early, as there wonld be a bettor chance of getting better judges. Mr Kirkwood thought the scheme would he unworkable,' because even when three judges were picked in the first place, the third-choice man had had to be appointed, the others not being able to act. Mr Dobson thought the general committee could make the first choice, the executive committee afterwards making the final choice. Mr Jackson moved that the general committee nominate judges, from which the executive should make the final selection. Mr Kirkwood seconded pro forma, explaining that he was entirely opposed to the idea. Mr Healy said the secretary had an official list of recommended judges, mid it was often necessary to approach six men before one was finally selected. The motion was carried on the voices. Tt was decided to write to the different breed societies, asking them to increase the number of the jndges recommended by them.
