HOME RULE FOR IRELAND.

FIRST READING IN THE LORDS. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. [United Presi Absociatjon.] (Received 1.25 p.m.) London, May 25. The House of Lords read the Home Rule Bill a first time. The second reading is fixed for June 22nd. Mr Redmond, interviewed, said the division marked the death of an inglorious union. There were only two eventualities to prevent the Bill going oil the Statute Book—either Parliament must dissolve within a month cfr the House of Commons go mad and pass a resolution not to, present the Bill for the Royal Assent. Both were absurd. A.Home Rule Parliament was now indisputable and if the amending Bill does not alter the fundamental principle, every Nationalist will rejoice.
