SHIPPING AMALGAMATION

TERMS OF THE ARRANGEMENT. [By Electric Teleguaph—Copyright) [United Pres* Association.] (Received 9.35 a.m.) London, May 22. The official amalgamation has been arranged between the P. and 0. s.s. Company and British India Company. The amalgamation is subject to the shareholders’ approval, and provides for the exchange of British-India ordinary shares for thirty-three and one-third P. and 0, deferred stock and preferred stock cent, per cent. The companies will work as separate entities. The Peninsular directors join the British Board and vice versa. When the amalgamation is completed the interests of the two undertakings will be in all respects identical.
