NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO. WEEKLY REPORT. On Tuesday, the 19th inst., we hold our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards, which were well filled up with odd lines of farmers’ stock, and a good clearance was effected at the following rates: —Mixed weaners 19s for inferior, 31s for fair, 34s 6d to 3,s 6d for good cattle, weaner heifers 21s 6d to 22s 6d for small, 25s to 29s for medium, up to 32s 6d for fair quality. Weaner steers made 26s 6d for medium, up to 42s 6d for a line of good colors. Store cows were well represented, hut prices were hardly as good no doubt owing to the rough weather, 50s to 57s 6d for poor and small, 635, 67s 6d for medium cort’s, up to 735, forward cows 745, 755, 79s 6d, 80s, I S3s 6d, 80s, 87s, 90s, to 95a, fat cows 115 s to 1265, hulls 90s, 20 months heifers showing color 86s, others 56s to 60s, 2} year steers 92s to 110 a, lambs (cully) 4s 6d, medium 10s sd, fat wethers 19s. Since we last reported we have written up a good lot of stock privately to an unsatisfied demand, both local! and outside inquiries being t,timer- j ous. Lambs 6s 6d, 9s 6d, 10s. I Is, 11s 3d, 12s 3d,wethers 13s, 16a and 17s, I fat ewes 15s to 16s, store ewes 10s, 1 10s Od, 15s 6d, 16s 3d, forward weth- j ers up to 19s, weaner heifers 2fls, 25s 275, 32s 6d, and 355, weaner steers 30s, 33s 6d, and 40s, weaner hulls 30s, : 32s 6d and 40s, store cows 70s, 765, and 80s, 20 month steers 50s, 78s, 80s, ! and 87s 6d. empty heifers up to 100 s: for nice lines, bulls 70s to 80s. NEWTON KING’S REPORT. For my fat pig sale held on Tues-. day, 19th inst., there was only a moderate yarding owing to the inclement weather, which were offered before a fair attendance. There was a good demand for large sorts, and prices ruling were firmer than my last sale. A clearance was effected at the following pricesWeaners (small) 6s to 6s 6d, one pan stores (small) 13a to 15s, porkers (light) £1 7s to £1 12s, i medium to good ditto £1 19s to £2 6s (equal to 4Jd to 4Jd per lb).
