AMUSEMENTS.

BERNARD'S PICTURES.

The new change of pictures last night at Bernard's Theatre included the star drama, "Under the Daisies," which is a striking Vitagraph story, and was greeted with great applause. The famous Keystone Coy were at their best in. the comedy "Heinze's Resurrection." The music by Van Heck's orchestra continues to be much appreciated. Tomorrow's change of bill will include a drama entitled "Silver Blaze" produced under the nersonal supervision of Sir Conan Doyle of Sherlock Holmes' fame, the scenario runs somewhat as follows : Silver Blaze was the favourite for the Wessex Cup, but was missing on the eve of the race. The horse was in charge of John Scraker, and after Living final instructions to Hunter {'the' stable-lad), he had retired for )'(> night. ;Tn the morning it was found that Hunter had been drugged, and that both Scraker and Silvei Blaze were missing. Sherlock Holmes discovered the dead body of Scraker on the moor. Holmes came to the house of trainer Brown, whom he found in the midst of a drunken orgie, and afterwards admitted that he had staked all his money on a horse other than "Silver Blaze." Great v/tis the surprise of Colonel Boss when Holmes advised him not to withdraw the name of his horse from tho race. After the race he was still incredulous,.and insisted that the horse that had carried his colours was not Silver Blaze. Holmes,, ordered one of the hoys to obtain some spirits of wine, and after a little application, there stood before his astonished eyes the same old "Silv.er Blaze."
