Sir Edward Carson, speaking at the Queen's Hall, said he had heard much about offers and counter-offers, but the only one made in the House of Commons was a hypocritical sham. "Ulster does not want civil war, which is a horrible thing," he said, "but we are not afraid, of the Government. If they drive us to it, we will take the consequences like men." THE GUN-RUNNING BOATS. London. May 20. The Chronicle states that in consequence of the Government seizing the steamer Innes Murray, the gunrunning charterers have to pay the owners £BOOO. The owners of the Helen Craig .also require compensation. The actions will be held in Dublin shortly.
