In the House, in reply to questions, the Minister stated that '"nqui -ies were proceeding in regard to alleged slavery in connection with the recruiting of natives in Papua. One Magistrate had been found guilty of misconduct. Strong action was being taken to prevent a continuance of any ill-treat-ment of natives.
