YESTERDAY'S GAMES. STRATFORD (26) V. INGLEWOOD (0.) At the Showground yesterday the Stratlord and Inglewood juniors tried conclusions. Owing to a misunderistanding only nine members of the i visitors’ team turned up, and their I ranks had to he filled up with Stratford men picked up on the ground. The .'Stratford team played well, showing jsome good passing. A feature of the day was the place-kicking of Collins, who had six kicks and notched six goals, all from average hard angles. The home team were superior throughout the game and won by 20 ni], though if they had been necessary more scores could have been scored if Stewart had fed his wings as he should {have done. The visitors got to the home line very seldom, and it was only in the second spell that Inglewood indulged in any passing at all. In the first spell tries were scored by Rogers and Friday, Collins converting in each case. In the second spell Jones and Rogers scored tries, which were converted by Collins, who also kicked two goals from penalties.! Air J. H. Thompson acted as referee. TUKAPA (11) V. CLIFTON (3). Tukapa and Clifton met at Waitara, the play being of a second-class order. The New Plymouth team was strengthened by several of last year’s senior players, and Clifton had practically a scratch team. The winners’ score consisted 1 of two penalty goals and a converted try, and Clifton’s of one penalty goal.
