HAWERA’S SECOND DAY. The Egmout Club’s winter meeting concluded in line weather yesterday. The attendance was large, the gate takings exceeding those ol the second day last May .meeting by about £l4. .Some good racing and close finishes were witnessed, particularly in the Opeke Handicap, when four horses finished almost in line. One or two cautions were extended to jockeys, but the Stewards did not feel called upon to inflict any punishments. The totalisator figures for the day were £15,880, as against £13,487 10s on the second day last year, an increase for the day of £2302 10s. For the meeting the investments totalled £30,780 10s, being an increase of £OO4I on the totalisator figures for the winter meeting last year. Following arc the further details of the racing:—

Winner trained by A. Jackson. Also started: 2 Lady Ami 9.0 (C. Brown), G Millhanks 8.9 (Deeley), 5 Bivouac 8.7 (Nochrer), 8 Conguard 8.7 (R. Young), 7 Tahora 8.7 (E. Copestake). Won easily by half a length from Patronata, Sweet Van a length away. Time, Imin 33 sec. A Perth cablegram gives the following result:—Golden City Cup—Roneglide and Coca tea dead heated, with Full Sail a neck away. There were eight starters. Time, 2miu 40 l-Ssoe.
