Miss Ellon Terry, the actress, was enthusiastically welcomed (states a Sydney cablegram). The New Zealand tour opens in Auckland on 2nd June. Mrs Mary Ann Dickinson, relict of the late Mr H. A. Dickinson, a wellknown Midhirst died at Hawera yesterday at the residence of her son-in-law. The interment will take place at Hawera on Friday. Mr R. E. Foster, the well-known cricketer, is dead, reports a London cablegram.. His death took place in London, where he had been ill for some time from consumption following diabetes. The King gave an audience to Dr. Mawson, the Antarctic explorer, states a London cablegram. Dr. Mawson had half an hour’s interview with the King, who was keenly interested in the Australian aspects of the expedition, and asked many questions as to his personal experiences.
