Heavy rain has been falling for the past few days, and all the district rivers are running high, though there is at present no danger of floods. , A man named Heenan, whose Christian name is unknown, was drowned this afternoon in a flooded creek near PatutahL A man named Jenkins is believed to have been drowned in a river six miles from Tiniroto. A settler lower down the river found Jenkins’ hat and pack-horse in the'stream, but so far there is go trace of the rider.
