Anxiety is being shown in shipping circles regarding the non-arrival ■ of the Woottou, which left Lyttelton for Foxton at ’ midday on" : Tuesday, and should have arrived oh Friday morning. Since leaving, the Wootton has not been sighted by any vessel. It is surmised the vessel has sustained a broken shaft or disabled machinery. The Marine Department has been advised that she is four days overdue, and all steamers are warned to keep a sharp look out. It is reported from Pahaiitanui this morning that a launch containing three persons leftKapiti on Sunday, - and has not been , seen since.
