DEATH FROM LOCKJAW.
A DANGEROUS TROUBLE. i [By Electric telegraph—Copyright] Times and Sydney Sun Services. (Received 8.0 a.m.) London. May 11. At an inquest on a Hackney man. who, while gardening, had a fork penetrate his foot, and who died from lockjaw, a doctor gave evidence that the mortality-rate for lock-jaw was ninety-four per cent. Ami-tetanic serum was a fairly safe cure, but death was certain when spasms follow within a, s wedv, of the. injury.
