A CHARGE OF THEFT.
EX-SCHOOLMASTER IN TROUBLE TPbh Press Association.] Napier, May 10. A rather startling arrest was made on Friday night by Detective-ser-geant Kemp, when he took into custody a man well-known about town, Robert Mackay Mclntyre, a prominent Napier Rugby footballer, and an ox-master of the Napier Boys' High School. It appears that while the defence officers were making preparations for the camp, Mclntyre was assisting them at the drill shed, and since their departure for camp lie had been giving assistance to Sorgoant-Major Lucky. Several evenings ago, as he and Lucky were leaving the building, in putting an envelope with £l9 7s -Id enclosed in a drawer, the officer remarked that if someone did not call for the money (it being Captain Bishop's salary), it would be stolen. When lie returned next morning Lucky discovered that the money was missing, and also that entrance had been effected by getting through a window. Ho at once placed the matter in the hands or the police. Prompt enquiries were instituted, with the result that Mclntyre was arrested. He appeared in court on Saturday, and was remanded till Mondav.
