FOOTBALL. X.Z. REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. [Per Press Association.] Wellington, May 8. The animal meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Referees' Association was held to-night. Mr Isaacs, chairman, in moving the adoption of the annual report, said the association was doing well, despite the fact that it had.no subsidy from the Rugby Union. The executive desired to stress the point that the choice of referees for a club contest should be left in the hands of the local referees' associations, and urged associations to make an effort to get a bylaw to this effect in the local Rugby Union club contest rules. The suggestion was approved, and a sub-committee was set up to wait on the New Zealand Rugby Union, at the annual meeting next .week, to urge its adoption, so as to secure uniformity of method. The application .of the East Coast (North Island) Referees' Association for affiliation with the New Zealand Association was granted. The following office-bearers wore elected: President, Mr R. M.
