Prince Alexander of Teck succeeds the Duke of Connaught as GovernorGeneral of Canada, states the cables. The Hon. D. Buddo addressed the Australasian Chamber of Commerce on New Zealand’s trade, states a London cablegram, Mr G. de Bayliss, Field Instructor of the Department of Agriculture, is at present on a visit of inspection to the experimental plots in the district. ' l • The Rev. J. Pattison, who is at present assisting Rev. W. H. Howes in an evangelistic mission in Manaia, will return to Stratford early next week. Hia Grace Archbishop R® l.vood will leave for Europe in about a fortnight’s time for the purpose of attending'-the Eucharistic Congress, to be held this year at Lourdes in July, and for n.ak-ten-yearly visit to the l ope at Rome, which is enjoned on his episcopal office. In regard to the Eucharistic Congress at Lourdes, it is interesting to notice that a special effort is being made to -ocme the attendance of Bishops from as many parts of the world a- possible, and his Grace received a special invitation to be present as the representative of the Catholic Church in Naw Zealand,
