Horatio Bottomley and Julius Elias, representing the printers, have been summoned for an article in “John Bull” containing a proposal and the scheme of lotteries run in Switzerland called the Grand .National Sweepstake and the John Bull Derby Sweep. In each , case a certain sum was promised to charities. Bottomley. contended that the article constituted a legitimate newspaper controversy. The case was adjourned.
