Referring to Dr. A. Dillon Carbery’s return to New Zealand it should have been stated that he hopes to be back in Stratford by the end of August. Mr Junius Morgan, aged 23, son of Mr J. P. Morgan, and grandson of millionaire Pierpont Morgan, is engaged to Miss Louise Converse, aged 19, of Boston. Young Morgan is studying at Harvard University, and the wedding will take place when che lias graduated.—Tiraes-Sydney Sun Service. ' Mr T. E. Foy, manager of the Bank of New Zealand, Te Kuiti, has re-* ceived word that he has been appointed manager for Fiji, and will be stationed at Suva. Mr Butts, from Raetihij will succeed Mr Foy. Dr. A. Izard, medical adviser to the King of Tonga, who is at present on a visit to New Zealand, will leave Wellington on his return to the Islands next Friday. He has definitely decided not to again contest the Wellington North seat against the Hon. A. L. Herdman. Mr J. G. Ellis, at one time the >. ice-president of the Westland A. and P. Association and honorary botanist to the same body, and who. is well known as an agricultural instructor and lecturer in South Canterbury, has taken up his position of agricultural and dairy science instructor under the Taranaki Education Board.
