LINKING UP LABOR.
AN APPEAL FOR SOLIDARITY. [Per Press Association J Wellington, May 4. At the recent conference of laobur unions in Wellington, a resolution was passed recommending the Federation ol Labor to call a congress for July. Mr P. H. Hickey, general secretary ol the lodnration, has now written to all muon .secretaries urging that their unions be, represented. In the course ol the appeal lie says it is hoped that there will bo launched a movement that will not only bind New Zealand unions to each other in the bonds of solidarity and fraternity, but will extend across the Tasman Sea and clasp hands with 200,001) unionists already enrolled. Concluding. Mr Hickey says: “Let the majority decide the policy and Jet us all loyally and faithfully abide by the decision of the majority, and all will he well. It is in that spirit that the Call is made. Answer in that spirit, and labor will soon hide up and become invulnerable as Gibraltar.”
