BERNARD'S PICTURES. There was a large audience at Bernard's Theatre last night, when an entirely new series of pictures werescreened. The star drama, "Partners in Crime," is the best Lubin detective story that has been screened. The "Gaumont Graphic" is, as usual, full of current topics and fashions. A Vitagraph drama, "A Doll for a Baby," is a stirring story of Western Indian days. The little child of Sam Peters and his wife sees a picture of a doll in an old catalogue, and as her parents are going to town she asks them to bring her one. Peters promise to do so, and they start off leaving Gladys in the care of the cowboys, who are ail devoted to her. During their absence Gladys complains of a terrible pain. A doctor is fetched by .lack Williams, and arrives just as Peters and his wife returns. Gladys is terribly disappointed when she finds that her father has not brought the doll. The doctor fears that unless a doll can lie obtained there is little chance of her recovery. Williams at once sets off with one or two of the boys to buy the doll, but on tnetr way back they are met by several Indians. After a sharp struggle the boys escape, Williams receiving slight wounds. They get back to the ranch just in time, for Gladys appears to lie sinking. Three hours afterwards the doctor tells the boy that all danger lias passed and Gladys is well on the road to recovery. The orchestra, under the baton of Gerald Van Heck, provided the latest musical bits. Tomorrow evening's change will introduce Hubsch's sensation, "The Black Thirteen," a sequel to "On the Track of the Spider League." and a bunch of art pictures. The heating of the Theatre is a splendid innovation, and in warmth patrons can thoroughly enjoy the show.
