BERNARD S PICTURES. The new programme of star pictures presented Inst night at Bernard’s Theatre proved a first-class series. The star drama, “The Sea Eternal,” is the slickest and host Lubin story so far screened; dealing with the lire of coastal fishermen.- t The film introduces very daring rescues from lithe mighty deep, interwoven with a 'magnificent plot. “Provencal Bullfight” is an exciting Mexican pastime. The wonder is how the various toreadors survive the daring attacks on the bulls. “The Gamnont Grdphic” contains the latest topics. The Keystone Co., which everyone enjoys, topped the polo in their screamingly funny comedy, “Cohen Saves the Flag.” In the orchestra Gerald’"Van Heck received great applause upon taking his seat. The music, which is under Van Heck’s personal supervision, was excellent, all the latest operatic scores being played. The same programme will be repeated this for. the last time. To-morrow .(Wednesday) an entire change of pictures direct from Wellington, will be screened. The feature picture, entitled “Partners m Crime,” by Gubin's famous players, is stated to be a stirring detectivestory. Jlie supporting films include “Rose Carnival at Christchurch” and a host of dramatic and comic subjects.
