The Home Office report on the Seughenydd disaster states that it finds a disquieting laxity in the management, and the mine was in an unt;satisafotory condition through coal dust. It was probable the explosion was preceded by heavy falls of the roof, thus liberating gas which the elcctricJsparks ignited.
