At the annual meeting of the AntiSlavery Society, Admiral Sir George King-Hall said the state of affairs in the New Hebrides was scandalous. Disgraceful acts had occurred on the island, which were a blot and a slur on a chivalrous nation. He could not believe that the French knew what was being done under the shelter of their flag.
