TARANAKI LAND BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. Tlip usual meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was hold on Wednesday. Tlie Commissioner of Crown Lands, Mr (;. H. Bullard, presided, and members present were .Messrs .). Rattenbury, C. J. Ryan, and A. Coxhead. TRANSFERS. Jas. Pedersen held section 7, block :>>, Upper Waitara, 60S acres, under 0.R.P., but was not resident, and his interest was forfeited. He had mortgaged the section to Mrs M. M. Pasmi, at whose request the Hoard sns ponded the forfeiture to enable her to release. She obtained a transfer from Pedersen, but consent was refused, as she did not propose to reside. The Board then gave her time to find an eligible person who would take over the property. This she has now done, and the consent is required first t<transfer to Mrs Passau, to place her in .". legal, position, and secondly for a transfer from her to J. M. McLeod. Tlie proposed transferee is landless, and has been six years dairying and bush farming.—The transfers wvve ap proved.

It was resolved to offer section t, block 11, Aria, 1039 acres, subdivided 'nto section as shown on scheme tracnig, to be approved by the Commisio.ner under optional conditions at a valuation to be made. F. K. Cribb, tdjoining owner, wants to acquire some of the area, but it was resolved to refuse his application. it is proposed to cancel the interest of John Sheehy, in section 12. block \ Ohura, 185 acres, as he has failed .o sign the lincense.—Consideration deferred.
