In the Fenner trial, Major Oyery gave evidence that, wishing to change his investments, he approached Fenner, who unfolded a scheme for reinvestment, involving £ ; 14,872 and increasing witness' income by £350 yearly. The certificates were handed to Fenner, but he gave no new stock, and misappropriated £35,000.
