A Shipping Tragedy.
STEAMER TURNS TURTLE. THREE PERSONS DROWNED. LBt Electric Telegraph—Copybight] [United Press Association. « .(Received 11.00 a.m.) Hobart, April 24. A tragic disaster has occurred. The steamer Huon, 730 tons, returning with a full load of fruit for transhipment, with eight passengers, turned turtle,and sank, precipitating the passengers and crew into the water. The weather was dead calm. The Excella lowered a boat and saved all but three—Mrs Gallon, her son aged four and Mr#F,ysh. It is believed that they rushed to the hold and were taken down with the steamer. Mrs Gallon had another child aboard, aged nine, the only one of the family saved to meet the father, who was waiting on the wharf. The cause of the disaster is unknown.
