“That the service of the City Organist and the use of the city organ should not be made available for political party purposes.” Councillor Trogear moved a motion in these terms at the meeting of the Wellington City Council on Monday night. At a recent public meeting, he said, the organ was used to drown applause, and he thought it was beneath the dignity of such an instrument to be used for purposes for which a kerosene tin hand would be more suitable. The motion was not seconded, and no discussion took place.
