WELLINGTON RAC.ES. [Pee Press Association.] Trentham, April 23. The weather is fine, the attendance good, and the going slightly holding for the first day of the autumn meeting. Results':— First Hack Hunters’ Steeplechase, of 140 sovs: two and a half miles.— Silver Monarch 1, Kelp 2. Scratched: Max, Passive, Rufus, Master Malachi, Ihbar, Renowned, May. The placed horses were the only ones to finish. Won pulling up by 100 yards. Time, smia 30 l-osec.-Traill remounted Sunrofie in the .Steeplechase and finished for third money. None of the jockeys were injured. St. Leger, of 550 sovs; one and three-quarter miles.—Merry Roe 1, Cherubini 2, Marshal McDonald 3. Also started: Rinnldo. Won by a long neck, two lengths between second and third. Time, 3min 4 2-ssec. Plunket Nursery.—Honesty i, Elevate 2, Bee 3. Scratched: Angelina. Won by two lengths. Time, Imin 3 2-ssec.
