STRATFORD AND ELSEWHERE. The Town Clerk (Mr Skoglund) gives notice of poll for the election of, Mayor, to' take place oh/'Wednesday, April 29th, the candidates being Nathaniel John King and William Patrick Kirkwood. Mr Kirkwood was nominated by Messrs J. B. Richards, Percy Thomson, J. W. McMillan, F. P. Uniacke, P. W. Webster, A. H. O'Leary, D. Graham, J. Bowen, H. Wilson, J. D. Healy, W. H. H. Young, C. B. Walsh, M. -8. Freer, Geo. Hall, J. E. Sheehan, T. A. W. Nicholson, D. S., Glasgow, t W. A. Hewitt. Mr King's nominators wero Messrs Geo. Burgess, Edward Hancock, A. F. Cuff, C. D. Sole, Chas. Downey, T. D. Colson, R. H. White, Thos. White.
At Hawera (states a Press Association telegram) the nominations for Mayoralty are H. K. Whittingtou (deputy Mayor) and E. Dixon (President of the Chamber of Commerce). At Eltham, Mr T. B. Crump was re-eleoted for the third time unopposed. The nominations for the Pahiatua Mayoralty were T. D. C. Crime (present Mayor), J. D. Wilson (borough councillor and ex-Mayor). . Mr Vigor L. Brown was returned unopposed as Mayor of Napier for the seventh successive term.
