THE NEXT MILITANT SCHEME,
[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.! (Received 8.0 a.in.) London. April 18. Concerted action by the suffragettes is responsible for extensive damage through numerous fires. Besides the destruction of the Yarmouth Pier, the Empire Theatre, Kingston-on-Thames has been gutted, and the stock and scenery destroyed.
The grandstand at 'Tvcmpton Park racecourse was found to be alight, but the outbreak was promptly noticed, and tlie building was saved. A skating rink, a picture palace, and a steam laundry at Penzance in Cornwall, were destroyed. It is believed that the next movement of the militants’ scheme will be to spoil the pleasure of the London season by annoying the noblest families during the height of the social round. MORE INCENDIARISM. London, April 18. The suffragettes burned the Belfast Corporation’s Bellevue gardens and tea-rooms.
