ADVICE TO NEW ZEALAND. "London, April 17. The Morning Post questions the strategic soundness of Australasia's naval views, saying the dissipation of forces world-wide makes for weakness at the decisive point, but if the Government had fulfilled its agreement it would have been a proof of its bona fides and it migt have induced Xow Zealand to adhere to the subsidy. The Post advises New Zealand, if determined on a change of policy, that it should co-operate with Australia to bnild a strong unit, and not to build sham defence works ashore. PROPOSED NAVAL CONFERENCE London, April 17. Mr McNamara, Secretary to the Admiralty, replying to Dr. Chappie, M.P., said it was impossible in present circumstances to hold a naval conference at Vancouver. Papers dealing With the subject would shortly be laid on the table. TENDERS FOR BATTLESHIPS. London, April 17.
