There is a large crop of minor strikes in different parts of the Commonwealth. » There were no less than five distinct strikes in Sydney yesterday, mostly through men being dismissed for various t reasons. Only one looks like spreading—that of the carters refusing to handle chaff declared to he non-union. This strike started at Coolamon, where members of the Australian Workers' Union struck. Tlk farmers handled their own chaff; but the engine-driver, fireman and guards refused to work the train carting the thaff. They were dismissed and others brought it to Sydney. Now the carters refuse to touch it.
The Federation. of Labor upholds the strikers. ,#
The Employers' Federation will sup port the master carriers' association in any steps taken. ,
