AMUSEMENTS.
o HIB MAJESTY'S PICTURES Packed, but very comfortable, were the audience last night, when the Easter Week end series of pictures were screened. whole of the programme combined the latest released picture-productions. The star feature drama film, "Her Second Choice," 3000 ft. of Pathe's new coterie of players, proved to be a high-class story of the life of a widow and her daughter. The scenics and comics, and also the latest Gaumont Graphic and supporting dramatic films wore greatly appreciated. Owing to the illness of. Mr Van Heck, violinist, the i : e\v orchestra was supplemented by two well-known local players, Miss Agnes Robson (piano), and Mr Hick Cottier (violin), both of whose playing is always greatly appreciated. To-morrow evening (Wednesday) Pathe's famous colored detective drama, entitled "Nick Winter and the Kidnappers," will be screened. The plot runs as follows: —The Marquis d'Armor decides to make what reparation he can for past harshness, and advertises for his daughter-in-law. The latter, Francine Cardin, decides to answer the advertisement and attempts to borrow a suitable dress from a neighbour. Directly the latter learns for -what purpose it is required, she and her family overpower Francine and carry out an imposture with the Marquis d'Armor as the. victim. Safely installed in the wealthy home, they cany on a "systematic series of thefts. -Nick Winter is called into investigate, and after many adventures he succeeds in capturing the criminals and bringing Ki'ancine into her own.
TOWN HALL PICTURES.
There was a large and appreciative audience at the Town Hall last night. To-night there will be a complete change of programme. The star picture will be "Indian Uprising," an historical Kalem drama 3000 ft. "The Converts" is a drama by the A.B. Company, and must be seen to be believed. "Tresses and Curls" is an educational film by the Pathe Company. Then there is a scenic entitled "Trout Fishing in New Zealand," and a drama by the Lubin Co., headed "When Love Leads." "The First Row" is a comic by the Pathe Company. Other pictures are: "The Miniature" (Edison drama), and "Temperance Lecture" (Cosmo Company). Mr A. Richardson will play appropriate music. Prices as advertised in this issue.
