The Health Department had recommended certain improvements, but nothing seemed to have been done. It was decided to draw the Councils attention to the matter.

From time to time telegrams announce the occurrence of cases of infantile paralysis in various parts of the country, and the disease appears now to have got a footing in Stratford. The first motor 'bus arrived from Wanganui, and is one of the most up-to-date motor conveyances yet imported to New Zealand. Excepting that the 'bus is ot much larger capacity than the ordinary motorcar, the comfort in travelling in the motor 'bus is on a par with that of the car. The motor 'bus has come to stay, and will no douDt r.oon come to be regarded as an institution of the town.
