MONDAY’S BIG EVENT.
THE GYMKHANA. Ho progressive. Hustle yourself along. Do unto your neighbours as they would do unto you, only do it first. Be what the Americans call “a live wire.” Don’t be beaten by anybody or anything. Take your pleasures in a cheerful spirit, always keep on the-sunny side of the street. Always have the glad eye for everybody. Of course, get as much as you possibly can for your money,i but see that what den for me this time. This is my beginning of the Easter holidays. Throw aside your business and private worries for a day or two and say to yourself: “1 am going to enjoy myself this Easter. No working in the garden for me inis time. This is my chance to make up .arrears of enjoyment.” Push yourself into that frame of mind, dress yourself in your, best, saunter, to the station if you are not a privileged resident ol Stratford, and buy an excursion ticket to Stratford. Mention to the ticket clerk that you are going to the Stratford Gymkhana, and just note the envious look that will spread o’er his face, and then say to yourself: “Old coon, this is indeed your lucky day.” When you reach Stratford and the great Gymkhana iour spirits will rise still higher, and von will return homo, tired perhaps, hut thoroughly satisfied that Gymkhanas are “the stuff.’ The secretary lias received the following additional entries for the jumping events at the Gymkhana i A. Mitchell's (Tuaroa in the maiden and open hunters, the steeplechase, and the Victoria Cross race; J. O’Donnell’s Grey star in the open hunters and steeplechase; G. Cowling’s (Mariam) “Kate Allerton,” lOsecs handicap in the 1 mile trot, and -0 sees handicap in the 1£ mile trot.
