MURDERED BY MOORS. I'JIY EIEOTBIO TULKGBAPH —COPYRIGHT] [United Press Association.] Paris, April 8. Captain Ha ve; and a* corpora], who were making an aerial reconnaissance, wore Hying in Western Morocco, when the engine stopped and they were » forced to glide to earth. The Moors tortured and killed them and destroyed the aeroplane. The announcement by the Aero Club of America that an attempt will bo made, probably in June, to ily across the Atlantic, has (says the New York correspondent of the “Times”) excited the keenest interest. According to Mr Glenn H. Curti%s, the manufacturer whom Mr Rodman Wananmkor has commissioned tf> construct a. machine for the flight, the passage over the Atlantic from Newfoundland to the Irish coast, a distance of ,16,000 miles, ought to bo accomplished between dawn and sunrise on one day with the aid of favorable winds. The waterplane is to have a wing spread of 80ft, and is to bo driven by a motor of 200-h.p., installed in a boat of torpedo shape located beneath the wings. Two airmen, one of whom will in all probability be Lieutenant Porte, R.N., are to operate the machine, which will carry sufficient petrol to enable them }to maintain a continuous flight of 1 thirty hours. In case of accident, the boat, which is capable of withstanding seas, can be instantly detached. A wireless equipment will be at the disposal of the airmen. Mr Wanamaker, in a letter to the Aero Club, explains that his idea in financing the attempt is to celebrate the centenary of Anglo-American peace by a worthy feat.
