appeals dismissed. Christchurch, April 8. In the appeal by Mr Hunter, owner of the horse Settler, against the decision of the Hawke’s Bay committee, that they had no power to deal with the horse’s disqualification, the judges decided that the appeal must he dismissed, and were of opinion that the owner and jockey should have boon present during the inquiry and given an opportunity of questioning witnesses and calling evidence. The appeal of H. Mawson, jockey, against tho refusal to heap his appeal, was dismissed oil the ground that it was not lodged in time. • A Sydney cablegram states that Audacity has Veen scratched for the Doncaster Handicap, and Beau Soult for tho Cup
