SIGNALMAN’S INVENTION.
FOOL-PROOF CARRIAGE DOOR. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] Times and Sydney Sun Services. (Received 8 a.m.) London, April 8. A signalman at Newport, Monmouthshire, has patented a fool-proof railway carriage door-closing mechanism. A rod running the whole length of tho train is operated by the guard. The railway company has given £19,000 for the patent.
