The p] o t is cleverly constructed, and to relieve the story of much of its pathos there is a delightful vein of humor running through the piece; and this being iu the hands of capable comedians makes the evening’s amusement K o with a swing. The whole plot rests on a young and wealthy gentleman, who,'having gone the pace, is suddenly pulled up by the family lawyer, who informs him that it is his birth-day, and that unless he marries in twenty-four hours lie will lose his fortune which has boon left "ith that proviso.
