SUNDAY FUNERALS. [Per Press Association. 1 Dunedin, Apr 1 7. At u meeting of b!ie Dunedin 'Presbytery to-day, a deputation representing tlio undertakers in the city and suburbs attended to discuss the question ot funerals on Sundays. The Dev. J. K. Mclntyre, who introduced the deputation, proposed that an agreement should be entered into that ministers refuse to conduct Sunday funerals except in cases represented by a doctor to l)o of urgent necessity, in sum cases the funeral to take placo at an early hour. The undertakers present expressed themselves as strongly opposed to funerals on Sundays, and tne opinion was expressed that the clergy as a whole were of a similar opinion. Eventually it was decided that the question he referred back to a committee with a recommendation that it enter into communication with the Ministers in the city and suburbs individually, and endeavour to unite them iii a strong resolution against Sunday funerals.

A special meeting of . the Napier Harbor Board to-day decided to again submit to Parliament a Bill authorising the Board to borrow £300,000 Iro the construction of an inner harbor* H.M.S. NEW ZEALAND. Wellington, April 7. The presentation by the loyal women of this Dominion to the battleship New Zealand is taking the lorm of a pair of the I’mcst silver orchestra! drums made by Hawkes and Ikon, of London. They are worth lOOgus, and have the arms of the “New Zealand emblazoned on them in silver repousse work.
