LETTER FROM THE KAISER.
INJUDICIOUSLY PUBLISHED. I By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Pekh« Association.! Berlin, April 6. The Norddeutsche states that, _ in accordance with Herr Kopp’s will, the Kaiser’s letter to the Landgravine Anna of Hesse will bo returned. The letter proves to be purely a family matter, and not intended for publication. It does not contain any reflection upon the Roman Catholic faith. All reports to the contrary are baseless, and the originator of them is seriously blameworthy for distorting circumstances whereby religious peace might bo ended and a disrespect to Catholicism lightly attributed to the Kaiser, which is entirely foreign to him. (The letter in question was written in 1901 by the Kaiser to the Landgravine, when she became a Roman Catholic. It strongly disapproved of her change of faith, and added “I hate the religion* you have adopted.”)
